Delgatie Castle

Delgatie Castle is a 4 star visitor attraction which dates back to the 15th Century and is steeped in History but you still get that homely feel when you step into the Castle.

There are amazing painted ceilings in the rooms dating back to 1592 and 1597, fine portraits, four poster beds, a child’s four poster bed, dolls houses and so much more to fascinate and entertain the visitor.

Indulge in the pretty tearoom that serves the best home baking, all local delicious food.

Tolquhon Castle

Described as one of the most beautiful castles in Scotland, Sir William Forbes intended this to be an impressive residence but don’t be fooled by its picturesque appearance – it was adapted in the 1580s to deter any hostile visitors!

The Castle is open Summer only from 26th March – 30th September.

There is a cost of Admission for Adults £5 and Children £3

Balmoral Castle

Balmoral Castle has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852, having been first leased in 1848.

It is a family-friendly experience and dogs are welcome, a perfect day out for the whole family. The grounds, gardens, and exhibitions are normally open to the Public daily during April, May, June and July.

With our gift shops and café, you can enjoy a wonderful day out at Balmoral. During November and early December, we also offer a limited number of Winter Guided Tour dates.

During these opening times, we also offer safari tours of the Estate – these are a marvellous way of exploring more of the Estate as well as viewing the scenery and wildlife native to Balmoral.

Braemar Castle

If you are a true history buff and love to learn all about heritage than Braemar is the castle for you.

Built in 1628 by the 2nd Earl of Mar, this highland hunting lodge reflects Scotlands national story.

17th and 18th Century, the rebel Jacobites attempted to overthrow the British crown with 4 uprisings.

We won’t ruin the history for you but the castle was saved by the public in 2007 and you can visit twelve fully furnished rooms.

Ballindalloch Castle

Ballindalloch Castle has been home to the Macpherson- Grants since the Sixteenth Century. It is a home for Guy Macpherson-Grant and his family today.

Explore the history throughout the grounds and inside the castle, go on a journey from start to finish. Then indulge in the tearoom with the most delightful cakes and treats.

Please most of the castles are only open from Easter to October, we recommend that you check before heading to a castle. All our information is on our website or directly to the castle’s website.
