Fraserburgh Heritage Centre is a 4 star family friendly Visitor Attraction run entirely by volunteers with a real passion for what they do and a real pride for the town.
Housing a magnificent collection of materials, the story of Fraserburgh and its environs over 400 years is revealed. From the bustling quayside in the age of sail to the haute couture of internationaly renouned fashion designer Bill Gibb. You can also learn about the towns remarkable connection with Japan through one of its most famous sons, Thomas Blake Glover went on to become one of the first westerners to establish a business in Japan and went on to create the foundations of the Mitsubishi Corporation. Today Thomas Blake Glover is fondly remembered as one of the founding fathers of modern Japan. There is even a museum dedicated to him in his adopted home in Nagasaki.
We have an excellent audio visual room and research library, free audio tours are available where visitors can hear locals speak about life in the past in their own voices.
We are also a ‘hands-on’ Heritage Centre with 23 different exhibits that visitors can engage with ensuring that the learning experience real and engaging with visitors of all ages. We also add something new every year
