Balvenie Castle

Balvenie Castle

Defended by a magnificent curtain wall and an iron yet, Balvenie was a stronghold of the powerful Black Comyns, rivals to Robert the Bruce in the early 1300s.

The heavily fortified stronghold became an elegant lodging in the 1500s.
